More than a dozen Alachua County elementary schools had some extra teachers in their classrooms Friday.

Around 300 University of Florida students volunteered in 125 classrooms for the annual Day of Difference program. Volunteers spent the day in with elementary students teaching them about subjects like business and economics. The effort is part of a collaboration with the educational non-profit organization Junior Achievement.

"A lot of these terms and stuff that we're teaching these kids today, I didn't know until I was in high school," Evan Nagle said. "So, I think it's great to get the kinda the information to them now."

This was the fourth year UF students took part in the Day of Difference.
