Chris Gilmore was born in Brooklyn New York, but has since lived in the Gainesville area for more than half his life.
A graduate from the IB program at Eastside High School, Chris attended the University of Florida where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunication-Broadcast News and a minor in Anthropology.
He began his career in news as an intern at WCJB and started reporting full time in summer 2012.
After growing up in the area and graduating from the University of Florida, it's safe to say that he bleeds orange and blue.
The idea of going into news business started while Chris was a teenager and after working at several of UF's radio and TV stations while a student, he knew that reporting was something that he wanted to do.
Chris has done everything in the newsroom from anchoring short news segments to operating cameras and tele-prompters.
As much as Chris loves telling stories and reporting the news, he's equally as passionate about what goes on behind the camera.
He has produced several small music videos for local artists, documentaries for charities, and spent time working in special event videography/photography.
Some of the major stories he's reported on include, the Christian Aguilar dissappearance, Controversies Surrounding the Dove World Outreach Center, the Casey Anthony Trial, and coverage of Tropical Storm Debby.
He's had the pleasure of interviewing Rev Run of Run DMC, Governor Rick Scott, Presidential Candidate Herman Cain, and Senator Bill Nelson
When not reporting on the latest story for TV20, Chris can be found hanging out with friends, taking photos, playing music, or traveling.
Chris is very excited to report the news in his hometown and even more excited to be a part of the TV20 team!
