Upon being named Sports Director at WCJB in September 2010, Chris Price has now held every position in the TV20 sports department. Beginning as an intern in 2006, he has covered some of the greatest moments in Florida Gator history: basketball national championships, football national championships and the 2007 Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York to name a few.
"It's an incredible time to be in North Central Florida," Chris says. "But it goes beyond the great college sports in the area."
High school sports have provided some of Chris's favorite moments during his time in Gainesville, from the numerous state champions to the ongoing recognition of north central florida's best and brightest athletes in the weekly Jeffrey meldon/ tv20 scholar athlete segment.
"I've met some amazing people here-players, coaches, parents, students...I've been so thankful not only to start my career here, but to continue here in a great community."
Sports have always been a part of Chris' life. Growing up in Mandeville, Louisiana, he played several sports but settled on tennis, and lettered at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Chris lives with his dog Ender, and on his days off, you may find him at the dog park, tennis courts or taking in some of the great sports in the area.
“My goal is to try and tell as many stories as possible that people care about locally. And if a teams wins a national championship or a player wins the Heisman Trophy in the process, then that's fine by me.”
