As a journalist just beginning what will be an exciting and fulfilling career, I'm honored to continue serving the North Central Florida community. I'm a recent graduate of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in telecommunications news and graduated cum laude.
During my time at UF, I experienced the worlds of both radio and television news at NPR affiliate Florida's 89.1 WUFT-FM and PBS affiliate WUFT-TV. I had the opportunity to work on several programs including NPR's Morning Edition as the local anchor, co-host of The Frontpage Edition of All Things Considered, and reporter and anchor for WUFT-TV's First at Five evening newscast.
I'm no stranger to the WCJB TV20 News Team! Before reporting, I began work here in January of 2013 as a photographer and associate producer.
A native Floridian, I was born in Key West. Growing up, I traveled all over these 50 states as a military brat during my dad's career in the NAVY. More recently, I lived in Orlando before moving to Gainesville to become a gator. Covering North Central Florida for almost four years has opened my eyes to the wide range of diversity and opportunity this area has tucked away. Whether it's exploring Florida's beautiful springs and Nature Coast, enjoying any number of weekend food, music, and art festivals, or chasing down breaking news, there's always a story worth telling.
When I'm not working, I enjoy discovering a new trail or state park, reading, cooking (and eating!), or lounging around catching up on my favorite comedians and late night shows. But I always have time for a good story idea! Send me tips at firstname.lastname@example.org and follow me on Facebook and Twitter.
