Mizell Minute 8-20-12

Steve Spurrier coined the name—“The Swamp”—for the Gators’ football stadium…its reputation grew as one of the toughest places for opponents to win…in 12 seasons as Florida Ball Coach, Spurrier won 93 percent of his home games…Urban Meyer’s first five seasons had the same smack—he won 94 percent in The Swamp…but then came a crack in the reputation as Meyer, in his final year, went 4 and 3 in the Swamp. Will Muschamp’s first year produced 5 wins, 2 losses but Florida was embarrassed by Alabama and Florida State. Muschamp says. “It’s on us,” and that his Gator must play better to regain the old Swamp gusto. Hubert agrees, saying, “Will, show us the way.”
