Justin Landers has something going for him that only few possess: he's a lefty. The senior PK Yonge pitcher has used it to his advantage on the mound, with over 85 strikeouts on the season in 65 innings pitched. The southpaw will enter Friday's 3A Baseball Regional Final against Providence with a 12-1 overall record and an ERA of under 1.0. He's arguably the best all around player on the team, raising his batting average from .350 to .453 from junior to senior year, and currently leads the Blue Wave with 32 RBI. But the individual successes take a back seat for Justin when it comes to the team achievements. PK Yonge is playing for a spot in the 3A state semifinals, something that hasn't been achieived at the school in 10 years. But Justin believes in his teammates, as well as himself, to get the job done and keep the season alive for at least one more game. The first-year captain of the Blue Wave is a leader in the classroom, showing that it's not too late to do well in school after a rocky start in his freshman year. Justin has a 3.0 unweighted GPA and wants to find a college that fits what he's looking for academically moreso than the state of the baseball program.
