Jeffrey Meldon TV20 Scholar Athlete Kadeidra Jackson
Kadeidra Jackson always knew she was fast, but didn't realize how fast till she hit middle school. After beating seniors on the PK Yonge track team before she even hit high school, Kadeidra was well on her way to becoming one of the best track and field athletes in the state. She won the 400-meter state championship her 9th grade year as a Blue Wave, but by the time she finished her sophomore year she was ready for a change. She transferred to Gainesville High for more detail-oriented training, and so far the switch has paid off. In her senior season, Kadeidra is ranked fifth in the state in both the 100-meter and 200-meter events, as well as a first-place state ranking in the 4-by-100-meter relay. She parlayed her talent with a 3.0 GPA to earn an athletic scholarship at the University of South Florida, and will run for the Bulls this fall.
