GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Chris Thompson's worked for everything he's gotten.

On the football field, the Gainesville High wide receiver went from a speedy varsity freshman with shaky hands, to one of the most talented senior wideouts in North Central Florida.

Thompson impressed Gators head coach Will Muschamp enough over the summer to earn an athletic scholarship with the University of Florida, and hopes to continue to impress on the football field on the way to a state championship.
