GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Chancie Grant was a late bloomer to volleyball, but in the 8th grade when she towered over other girls her age, it was a no brainer to join the sport.

She got the call up to varsity in the middle of her sophomore year, and for the past two season has enjoyed success with the Gainesville High Purple Hurricanes.

Chancie led the team with 316 kills in her senior season and added a solid .339 attack percentage that also ranked tops for GHS (minimum six attempts).

The middle blocker signed to play at the next level with St. Thomas University where she will join former Purple Hurricane teammate and friend Sydney Maynard in Miami.
