It was close, but, in the end they were able to take the Bulls by the horns. The number 12 University of Florida men's tennis team held off USF in the doubles and went on to a 4-3 win Sunday afternoon at the Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville. UF improved to 4-2 on the season while USF slipped to 3-6.
Singles play saw the Gators jump to a 4-0 lead to secure the match before USF got on the board. The win improves Andy Jackson's team to 4-and-2 for the season.
Florida returns to the court Friday, March 2, as the Gators travel to Oxford, Miss., to take on the fourth-ranked Rebels in the SEC season opener. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
