Chiefland HS Softball Advances to Final Four!

Two area high school softball teams were battling for a spot in the class 3-A final four -- Chiefland hosting Dixie County who was trying to avenge three losses to the Indians this season.  For Chiefland, they had been here before -- in 2005, the Indians were 24-and-0 heading into a regional final match-up on the road with Trinity Christian before losing in 12-innings -- 2-to-1.
Several hundred fans from both cities watching the game. Indians senior Megan Weatherford gets the job done in the circle by pitching a complete game shutout striking out Ashley Cannon to end it... hugging her proud pop -- head coach Wayne Weatherford following the win...
Chiefland advances to the final-four next monday in Plant city with a 3-0 win.
