GATOR BASEBALL ROLLS TIDE
Published May 5th, 2007
Matt LaPorta sat out this game with a strained quadriceps muscle, but that didn't stop his teammates from doing what LaPorta does best. Austin Pride, Jonathan Pigott and John Townsend all hit home runs for the Gators as they took their second game from Alabama in two days.
Winning pitcher Bryan Augenstein had his best outing of the season, giving up two earned runs in eight innings. Augenstein struck out ten Tide batters on the afternoon. The Gators now need just one win to clinch a spot in the SEC championship tournament in Hoover, Alabama at the end of the season.
