CALATHES DECISION HANGS IN BALANCE
Published June 3rd, 2007
Nick Calathes says he loves the Florida Gators. But they're a little more difficult to love after Billy Donovan took the head coaching position with the Orlando Magic.
Calathes, from Winter Park, Florida, said Saturday that he was surprised by Donovan's departure. Now, Calathes anxiously awaits the naming of the next head coach. Calathes would like to see VCU's Anthony Grant as the next coach, as Grant helped recruit Calathes to Florida when Grant was a Donovan assistant.
"Coach Grant is a great guy," Calathes said. "But any other coach (that the Gators may hire) would need to come down and talk to me."
