Buchholz Bobcats Hire New Baseball Coach

Buchholz high school has a new baseball coach. less than a month after a controversial firing of longtime Bobcats coach Bob Smith. The Cats new coach use to wear Orange-&-Blue.
David Banes is a former Gator outfielder & buchholz high alum who feels he's taking over something special.  Smith was let go by the school after 24-years amid controversy surrounding comments he allegedly made to new UF baseball coach Kevin O'sullivan who took a scholarship away from Smith's son Bo among others.
Smith has over 500-career wins -- including a 22-and-9 mark last year -- leading the bobcats to the 6A regional finals before losing 3-to-2 to eventual state runner-up Deland.
