LSU 28 Florida 24
For 3 quarters it appeared as if Florida was going to play its way back into the National Championship picture leading the #1-ranked LSU Tigers 24-14 after 45 minutes of play. Florida never trailed until the final minute of the 4th quarter.
The Tigers scored 14 unanswered points in the 4th quarter, including the game-winning drive following the Gators' 2nd turnover of the 2nd stanza to pull out the contest 28-24.
LSU converted two 4th down plays on the final drive before Jacob Hester scored the game-winning touchdown with 1:09 left in regulation. Hester finished with 106 yards on the ground.
While Florida made use of its offensive weapons spreading the ball around, Â the Tigers also spread the ball around to their play-makers especially in the 2nd half.Â
In all, four different players found the endzone for LSU. LSU pushed it's nation's best winning streak to 13 games and Les Miles moved to 17-0 on his home turf.
Tim Tebow passed for 2 scores and ran for another. The Super Sophomore connected on 12 of his 26 attempts for 158 yards and rushed for an additional 75 yards.
Kestahn Moore enjoyed one of his best games of the season picking up 79 yards on 12 carries and caught a couple of passes, including a 2-yard score that put the Gators ahead 10-0 at the start of the 2nd quarter.
Percy Harvin caught 4 passes for 58 yards, including a long of 27. That catch set up the Gators first TD of the evening.Â
The Gators will enjoy a week off before traveling to meet the Wildcats in Kentucky Oct. 19. The Wildcats dropped their first game of the season falling 38-23 at South Carolina.Â
U of F is 4-2 overall, 2-2 in the SEC after dropping its 2nd straight conference game.Â
