Hoop Sweep
Sophomore Center Marreese Speights tied his career-high with a 20-point outing in Florida's 86-69 victory over Temple in the Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise. Speights made good on 7 of his 10 baskets from the floor.
As a team, Florida connected on 61-percent of its shots. The victory improved the Gators overall record to 12-2 equaling the school record for wins before New Year's set back in 2005.
Jonathan Mitchell led a strong effort off the bench. Mitchell scored a career high 15 (of the 29 from the reserves) as he was a perfect 6 of 6 from the floor 3 of 3  from 3-point range.
Nick Calathes chipped in with 14 points while juniors Walter Hodge added 12. Chandler Parsons also shined shaking off a recent shooting slump to score 12 points.
As a team UF hit on 11 of 20 from 3-point range and outrebounded temple 37-21.Â
Meanwhile, Amanda Butler's Bunch topped Alabama A&M 70-49 at the O'Connell Center to improve to 9-4 overall (9-0 at the O'Dome).Â
The victory is the 5th straight for the Gators. Junior forward Marshae Dotson led the cause tying a career-high with 26 points (connecting on 9 of 15 from the field).
Dotson was named the State Farm Classic M-V-P.  Dotson recorded her 5th double-double of the season and 12th of her career.
Dotson was joined on the All-Tourney Team by Depree Bowden.Â
The Gators captured their 14th State Farm Classic in 17 championship game appearances. Â
