LSU Knocks Off Gators
The LSU Tigers knocked off the Gators 85-73 in front of close to 12,000 fans at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center to earn just their 2nd SEC win of the season. Florida turned the ball over 19 times to just 11 by the Tigers. UF had no answers for stopping the Tigers either in the paint or from beyond the arc. LSU shot 60-percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point land. LSU placed four players in double figures, including 22 by Anthony Randolph, 20 by Marcus Thornton and 19 by Chris Johnson. Garrett Temple added 10 points. Florida shot 46-percent from the field as a team and 33-percent from 3-point range. Nick Calathes led the Gators in scoring with 16 points. Calathes also grabbed 7 rebounds. Dan Werner added 13 points and 9 rebounds. Marreese Speights added 11 points, but had to fight through foul trouble for the majority of the contest. Mo played just 10 minutes in the first half. Speights took just 9 shots hitting on 4 of them. Walter Hodge chipped in with 10 points. Florida drops to 6-4 in the SEC and sits 19-6 overall. The Gators play at Vanderbilt on Saturday.
