BIG BROWN WINS KENTUCKY DERBY
Published May 3rd, 2008
Famed trainer Steve Asmussen's two thoroughbreds-Pyro and Z Fortune- fell short in the Kentucky Derby as Big Brown became the first horse to win after three races since the 1920's.
Pyro finished 8th and Z Fortune placed 10th.
In a somber note, runner-up was euthanized minutes after the race as the filly broke both ankels following the race.
