GATOR FOOTBALL RANKED FIFTH BY AP
Published August 16th, 2008
The AP followed the USA Today/Coaches Poll's lead handing the Florida Gator football team a number five ranking in the preaseason poll. Although Urban Meyer was unavailable for comment on Saturday, offensive coordinator Dan Mullen says the team won't spend any time worrying about the polls.
"I think that stuff is a lot of fun for the fans, it gives the media and chat lines a lot to talk about, but for the coaches and players, we control our destiny on the field," Mullen said.
"Where we are at the beginning is not that important."
SEC East rival Georgia is the top-ranked team in the nation, followed by Ohio State, USC, and Oklahoma, respectively.
