Gator Soccer Learns NCAA Tourney Fate
The Gator soccer team (17-3-1, 11-0 SEC) plays host to NCAA First and Second Round action Friday, November 14 and Sunday, November 16. Friday's pairings for NCAA First Round action at Pressly Stadium features Florida vs. California at 4 p.m.
with the UCF vs. Miami (Fla.) match following at 6:30 p.m. Florida is a #2 seed for the 2008 NCAA Championships.
UF is one of 16 programs playing host to 2008 NCAA First and Second round action this weekend. The winners of Friday's matches meet on
Sunday, Nov. 16 for the NCAA Second Round. Second round action at the Gainesville, FL, site will begin at 1 p.m. on Nov. 16.
The winner of Sunday's match advances to the NCAA Round of 16, which will take place Nov. 21, 22 or 23. NCAA Quarterfinal action is the
following weekend (Nov. 28, 29 or 30). The NCAA College Cup is set for December 5 and 7 at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
Friday's meeting will be the first between Florida and California.
