Gator Men's Hoops Falls to Tennessee
Published February 2nd, 2009
Billy Donovan may have won two national championships in the past three years, but the Gator Basketball Head Coach continues to struggle against a division rival. Bruce Pearl's Tennessee Volunteers beat the Gators 79-63 in Knoxville Saturday to hand Florida its second loss in four games. In addition, Donovan falls to 1-6 lifetime against Pearl. Nick Calathes led the way for the Gators with 21 points, but sat for nine straight minutes in the first half after picking up his second foul in the first three minutes of the game.
Florida looks to rebound Tuesday against South Carolina, who beat the Gators on a buzzer-beating layup January 21st.
