Calathes Enters NBA Draft
Published March 30th, 2009
Gator sophomore guard Nick Calathes will enter his name in the upcoming NBA Draft,
but keep his options open for a return for his junior season.
Calathes earned First-Team All-SEC honors from both the league coaches
and Associated Press, averaging a team-high 17 points per game and a
UF-record 6 assists per contest. He was the only player in the nation
to average better than 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists per
game on the year.
His 1,170 points over his first two seasons at Florida are the most
points ever by a Gator in his freshman and sophomore years combined. His
231 assists this season broke his own school record of 221 set a year
ago, as he ranks third in school history in career assists through just
two seasons.
