Gator Softball Heads to Second World Series
Published May 25th, 2009
The Florida Gator Softball team found itself in the identical super-regional scenario as last year, and once again, it ended in a college world series berth for the Gators.
For the second year in a row, the Gators beat the University of California-Berkley in the super-regional to advance to Oklahoma City and a chance for a national championship.
The Gators beat the Golden Bears 2-0 in game one and 2-1 in game two, thus finishing off the Bears in one day.
Florida (60-3) now turns its attention to the Arizona Wildcats on Thursday in the opening round of the world series.
