Former Gator Gay Wins Saint Jude Classic
Published June 15th, 2009
Brian Gay played his way past the competition--and played his way into the US Open--by winning the St. Jude Classic in Memphis on Sunday. Gay shot his third straight round of 66 to finish the tournament at 18 under par, five shots ahead of David Toms and Bryce Molder. Along with the $1,008,000 winners check, Gay also qualified for next week's US Open at Bethpage Black by earning an exemption as a two-time winner in 2009. Gay also won in Hilton Head, S.C. earlier this year.
