Published December 23rd, 2009
Returning to the friendly confines of the Stephen C. O'Connell Center was apparently not enough for the Florida Gator men's basketball team. Playing at the O-Dome for the first since December 1, the Gators lost to South Alabama 67-66 on a layin from DeAndre Hersey with 1.8 seconds remaining. The loss is the third straight for the Gators (8-3), who fall to 2-3 in the month of December. Alex Tyus led the Gators with 16 points, as Florida shot just 23% from the field in the second quarter and 36% on the game.
The Gators return to the court on December 28th against American at the O'Connell Center, beginning at 7 p.m.
