Gator Women's Basketball Season Ends In 2nd Round NIT Loss

The Miami Hurricanes beat the Florida womens' basketball team 77-64 in the second round of the women's NIT, as a frustrating season came to an end for the Gators. Marred by injuries and inconsistency, the Gators finished with a record of 15-17.
Azania Stewart, one of Amanda Butler's key players who sat due to injury late in the season, led the way with 18 points for the Gators; former Santa Fe College standout Steffi Sorensen added 15, but they were outpaced by four Hurricanes scoring in double digits, with Shenise Johnson's 19 points leading all scorers.
