Our final Jeffrey Meldon scholar/athlete of the week for the class of 2010 is a track star for Hawthorne high school who put the sting in four events for the Hornets this season -- qualifying for state in two. But, it's Ed Ray's ability in the classroom, where he sports a 3.6 grade average, which has him on the right track.
