Santa Fe Wins 12U Babe Ruth Softball World Series
Published August 15th, 2010
After a long week of softball, the hosts of this year's 12U Babe Ruth World Series can now call themselves World Series champions. Santa Fe beat Brusly, Louisiana Saturday 8-1 to win the World Series, becoming just the 3rd team ever to win the World Series as hosts. Teams from as far away as California and Washington came to the Hal Brady Recreation Complex in Alachua for a chance at the title, but Santa Fe defeated them all-- going undefeated throughout the Series. Santa Fe pitcher Lauren Riley took home World Series MVP honors for her performance during the Series.
