Bangoura Jr Ousts No. 4 College Player In Country, Reaches Southeast Semis

Sophomore Sekou Bangoura Jr had no fear falling 4 games to 1 to Region top-seed Guillermo Gomez from Georgia Tech. Instead, Bangoura fought back and achieved an improbable 7-5, 7-5 straight set win, knocking out the No. 4 player in college tennis and became the only Gator man to reach the Southeast Region Semifinals this year. Bangoura broke Gomez serve both sets at 5-5. Bangoura later fell to third-seeded Clint Bowles from Florida State in the Semifinals, 6-3, 6-2.
