Gainesville High Keeps Bragging Rights, WIns 23-6 Over Eastside
Published October 2nd, 2010
A cross-town battle between the Gainesville High Purple Hurricanes and the Eastside Rams got underway Friday night at Citizens Field. This season, both teams heading in opposite directions, with the Canes on a two-game win streak and the Rams on a two-game slide. When the clock hit zero, the trend continued as Gainesville High beat Eastside 23-6. The Rams kept the game within reach in the first three quarters, only down one possession to the Hurricanes. But costly turnovers once again sabotaged any chance for Eastside's upset bid. Gainesville High has now won two-straight in this series and gets to keep the bragging rights for at least one more season.
