Chiefland High's Jamantye Thompson is the primary leader of an Indian team in rebuilding mode. The Indians have promise for the future, but the seniors on the team, including Thompson, will not be able to see the results this year at Chiefland High. Still, the star running back is mature enough to know his hard work sets up his younger, current teammates for a bright future. Aside from football, Thompson maintains a 3.5 GPA and is involved in community activities, such as refereeing youth sports and playing percussion at his church. He also holds a part-time job and plans to go to college and major in business.
