The Gators “dominated”---“for 14 seconds”… After the jubilation of Andre
DeBose’s 99-yard kickoff return, Florida went into a “59-minute COMA”… Steve
Spurrier, the “ol’ ball coach who NICK-NAMED “The Swamp”---RECLAIMED it…
Florida was “exposed”… “demolished”… ”humiliated”… BOMBARDED BY BOOING in
their own house…
Florida was “outplayed”---“outhit”---“outcoached” …
It’is easy to forget---the Gators had 13-and-1 records THREE of the past four
seasons---two national championships---AND, that--on the Gamecocks' last
visit to Gainesville---Spurrier’s guys were
BUTCHERED 55 to 6.. So, “What went SO wrong for the Gators?”---well,
EVERYTHING---“except” the first 14 seconds… Urban Meyer has to be
SEARCHING---and, WHAT ABOUT "CHANGes?" ... Where was the
EFFORT---and the SCHEMES---that “outdueled” Georgia in O.T. and then
“crunched” Vanderbilt?... Florida’s defense was “over-worked” and :inefficient”…
Gators got “outrun” and “out-muscled” by South Carolina freshman
Marcus Lattimore… in the “rare minutes” Florida
was on offense---results were “horrendous”… In a ballpark famous for its high-velocity
cheers, the big noise was “BOOOOO”---especially for the offense… I departed
The Swamp with 10 minutes to go---I heard many patrons—rushing to
parking lots with sad faces and anger in voices—“taking in vain” the name of
Gator offensive coordinator Steve Addazio… well, what YA gonna do now, Urban Meyer?...
Florida HAS “big talent”---so why so many BIG WRONGS?... what kind of chance will
the Gators have in Tallahassee against FSU?... questions ABOUND…. I’m Hubert
Mizell, and that’s what I think.
