I have “no joy” in saying this----because John Brantley "the 4th" is such

a classy

and gracious young man... Number 12 did “lots of good” as Florida belted

Appalachian State---but

Brantley’s “TOTAL junior season”---NOT SO HOT… Gator minds are “on Florida

State”---but

MY EYES “glance ahead”---to 2011… For “the

greater good,” I do NOT think Brantley---next season---should be the No. 1

quarterback…

Florida is “an elite college football program”---but this year “a

CLUNKER”…

Three straight losses AT HOME---first time in 24 seasons... If the “downslide” is not CURTAILED, it

will

hurt RECRUITING---and “other stuff”…

I think “Brantley---as a senior---should play “only in certain

situations”… I “like” freshman Trey Burton---but he’s NOT my choice

for No. 1 quarterback… I think---“for the greater good”---

and “invigorating hope”---

it should be JORDAN REED… he’s big---6-3---240…

Reed’s running skills “EQUAL to Burton’s”---but Jordan is a better passer…

Florida “modified” its offense THIS SEASON---“because of Brantley”…

the “old

Urban Meyer Spread” calls for a QB who can “throw on the run---and EXECUTE

THE OPTION… I say the Gators SHOULD RETURN to the offense

of Tim Tebow… Brantley is “no threat as a RUNNER”---WEAK on

the option---EASY TO SACK… His “THROWING of the football” has

NOT “overcome Brantley’s shortfalls”… SO---add up all the

PLUSES and MINUSES---for “the good of an entire team,” the

“quarterback of the future” should be the “a 2011 sophomore”---a gifted

kid from

New London, Conn.---JORDAN REED … I’m Hubert Mizell, and

that’s what I think.
