GHS Football Season Ends In State Semis

Gainesville High's deepest run in the football playoffs in 30 years ended Friday night with a 36-14 loss to Lincoln High School (Tallahassee). The Purple Hurricanes took a 7-6 lead in the second quarter on a Ryan McGriff touchdown pass, but on the ensuing kickoff, the Trojans ran back a 95-yard touchdown, and they never looked back. Gainesville High finishes the 2010 season with a record of 11-3, a second straight district championship, and a trip to the Class 4A state semifinals.
