Gator Baseball Stays Perfect with 9-3 Win Over Boston College
The best team in the country got its first scare of the season. The No. 1 Florida Gators baseball team saw a 3-1 lead disappear in the top of the 7th after Eagles Brad Zapenas tripled to bring in two runs to tie the game. But the trick was on Boston College, with Zack Powers and Daniel Gibson using the hidden ball trick to get out of the inning, and shifted the momentum in the game. Florida then used patience at the plate to draw four consecutive walks, with Bryson Smith crossing the plate for the go-ahead score. Then on, the Gators never looked back in with 9-3 victory against Boston College. Gibson earned his first win of the season, after Gator starter Hudson Randall left the game in the 6th after leading 3-1. Designated Hitter Brian Johnson went 3-5 with 3 RBI and scored one run. Florida finishes the three-game series against the Eagles on Sunday, 1pm at McKethan Stadium.
