Published February 28th, 2011
The Florida Gators went into Fayetteville with a chipper attitude and a chip on their shoulder. When the weekend was over, the Gators bested fifth-ranked Arkansas on their home turf, en route to a 148 to 136.5 victory for Florida's first SEC Indoor Championship since 2004. The Gators claimed eight individual titles, including a sweep of the men's triple jump event, with Christian Taylor, Will Claye, and Omar Craddock taking first, second, and third place. Florida's Jeff Demps set a school record with a 6.55 60-meter dash. Now the Gators focus on defending last year's national title, as Florida heads to College Station, TX for the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships.
