The Florida Gator softball team has gotten off to a perfect start this season in more ways than one. Through nine games, the Gators are 9-0, and pitcher Stephanie Brombacher maintains a 0.00 ERA through the first stretch of the season. In addition, the Gators have shown toughness, displayed well through the performance of former Jeffrey Meldon TV20 Scholar Athlete of the Year Kasey Fagan. In game 1 of Florida's weekend series with North Carolina, Fagan was hit in the face by the foot of Tar Heels's shortstop Logan Foulks. Bloodied by the hit, Fagan stayed in the game, as the Gators began a three-game sweep of the Tar Heels. True grit, indeed.
