Ryan Smith Leaves GHS Football
Published February 9th, 2011
After guiding Gainesville High School to a 25-10 record in three seasons, Ryan Smith is departing as head coach of the Purple Hurricanes football team and taking the head job at DeLand high school. "We've had a great run, but I'm ready to take my game to the next level," Smith said. Smith led GHS to back-to-back city championships, beating both Eastside and Buchholz in 2009 and 2010, and also took the 2010 squad to the state final four.
