Florida Prepares to Enter NCAA Tournament as #2 Seed
Published March 15th, 2011
If the #1 seed in the NCAA basketball tournament is considered a sure-thing to win, the #2 seed isn't far behind. Only four teams have won a game as number 15 seed in the NCAA tournament, and on Thursday, Florida will try to keep UC Santa Barbara from becoming the 5th. The Gators will play the second and third rounds of the tournament in Tampa, which Billy Donovan calls an advantage.
"Our fans have travelled well throughout the state, and I think we'll have great support this weekend," Dononvan said.
Florida will try to earn its first NCAA tournament win since winning its second of back-to-back national championships in 2007. Last year, the Gators fell in the first round of the tournament in double overtime to BYU.
