Gator Baseball Back On Track With 2-1 Victory Over Gamecocks
Published March 27th, 2011
The No. 1 Florida Gator baseball team hadn't lost back-to-back games all season. They sure weren't about to break that trend. Gator pitcher Hudson Randall threw his first-ever complete game, striking out five, and only allowing one run, as Florida took a close game from the defending national champ South Carolina 2-1. Florida's only runs were scored by Kamm Washington. First, Nolan Fontana brought Washington across the plate on a sacrifice fly to tie the game in the bottom of the third. And with the score still 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Washington hit a solo home run to make the final margin. The Gators have yet to drop a series this season, and hope to keep that trend going as they face the Gamecocks tomorrow at 1pm.
