Blue Beats Orange 13-10 in 2011 Gator Football Debut
At times it looked uneven, but Florida finally saw its offense come to life for both teams in the fourth quarter, as the Orange and Blue exchanged touchdowns in a 13-10 Blue victory. Tyler Murphy led the Orange, completing 7-11 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown. But seldom-used quarterback Christian Provancha rallied Blue with a come-from-behind victory in the final minute, connecting with Robert Clark for a 39-yard touchdown to end all scoring. Senior quarterback John Brantley went 4-14, but otherwise head coach Will Muschamp said Brantley had a solid Spring season, completing near 70% of his passes during the 15 practices. Chris Rainey showed a glimpse of what it's going to be like if offensive coordinator Charlie Weis can get his speedsters in space, taking five carries for 34 yards. Florida opens the Fall football season September 3rd against Florida Atlantic.
