One day after Florida shortstop Nolan Fontana suffered a head injury in the Gators 4-3 loss to UCF, the team would only say that Fontana is "day-to-day" and would travel with the team to Starkville for the weekend series with Mississippi State. Fontana, batting .324 and tied for team lead in RBI had the injury occur in the seventh inning. A pop fly that drifted to the outfield had Fontana toppling over backwards, landing awkwardly on his head and neck. Fontana has started every game this season, and also leads the team in on-base percentage.
