No. 6 Gator Lacrosse Downs No. 2 Northwestern 13-11
This game was circled from the get-go for the Florida Gators Lacrosse team. In only its second year of existence, the University of Florida took on defending NCAA Women's Lacrosse runners-up Northwestern at Dizney Stadium Thursday evening in a showdown between the second and sixth-best teams in the nation. Florida dropped into an early 1-0 hole in the first 22 seconds, but then came out on fire scoring five unanswered goals, en route to a 9-4 halftime cushion and a 13-11 victory over No. 2 Northwestern. The sixth-ranked Gators were once again led by sophomore sensation Kitty Cullen, collecting six goals during the game, followed by Caroline Chesterman with three. Mikey Meagher had 10 saves on the game, helped by her swarming defense around the goal, thwarting Northwestern offensive sets all evening. Florida ended its home season undefeated, continuing a 13-game winning streak into the final two games of the regular season against Vanderbilt and Cornell.
