Buchholz Falls in Spring Football Game, Plus Other Area Scores
Buchholz Bobcats head coach Matt Kerstetter knew the job would be tough, but he got a glimpse of how far away his team is after Friday's 14-6 and 13-7 loss to Raines High School. The Bobcats played first-string in the first half, where Buchholz held their own against the Vikings. But the second half showed the Bobcats youth, lining up in wrong formations, missing assignments, and giving up big plays to Raines High. Buchholz will have over three months to get better, before the Bobcats face the Eastside Rams to kick off the 2011 season.
In other games Friday night, the Bell Bulldogs held off Branford Buccaneers 12-7 in a battle of alliteration. Meanwhile, Dixie County avoids the sting of the Lafayette Hornets, Bears victorious over Lafayette 17-14.
