Gator Baseball De-Feathers Ospreys
Published May 11th, 2011
With a Southeaster Conference series looming which could determine the SEC baseball champion, the Florida Gators did not look ahead to Vanderbilt, beating North Florida 4-1 Wednesday night at McKethan Stadium. Preston Tucker brought in one run on a sac fly, another on a fielder's choice, and Austin Maddox hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to give the Gators all the scoring they would need. Meanwhile Alex Pantaliodis picked up the win, and no Gator pitcher threw more than three innings.
The Gators, who trail Vanderbilt by one game in the conference standings, face the Commodores in a three game series beginning Friday in Nashville.
