Gator Softball Advances to Fifth-Straight Super Regional
Published May 23rd, 2011
The UCLA Bruins showed the heart of a champion, but the Gators were hardly ready for their season to end in front of their home crowd. After giving up two runs in the bottom of the seventh, Florida lost Game One 3-2. But in Game Two, No. 4 Florida responded by scoring nine-straight runs en route to an 11-3 victory in five innings. The Gators advance to the Super Regionals for the fifth-straight season. In Game One, Florida was held to one-hit, but exploded with seven in the doubleheader. The Gators will now host No. 13 Oregon in the Gainesville Super Regionals, starting on Friday at 2 p.m.
