Gator Softball Makes It To Their 4th Consecutive World Series
Published May 28th, 2011
Freshman Hannah Rogers threw her 10th shutout of the season against the Oregon Ducks today with 7-0 Gator victory, advancing the number four-seed to their fourth consecutive Women's College World Series. The Gators are the third team to jump on the train to Oklahoma City, following Alabama and Arizona State.
Brittany Schutte left off where she ended yesterday, hitting her third home run of the series in the top of the sixth inning to push the final margin out of reach for Oregon. The homer also gave Schutte the team-lead in home runs, overtaking Megan Bush, with 21 on the season.
Florida is the first team in the SEC to make four consecutive WCWS appearances.
