Gators and Gamecocks Meet For All the Marbles
Published June 26th, 2011
The Florida Gator baseball team made consecutive trips to the College World Series. Last year, they left Omaha empty handed in the win-column. But this season it's been a complete 180, going a perfect 3-0 heading into Monday's Championship Series against defending champs South Carolina. The Gamecocks have set an NCAA-record 14 consecutive wins in the CWS dating back to last year's championship run. But South Carolina pitching needs more rest, while the Gators arms are rested and ready to go. In the battle of SEC powerhouses, it should be quite a series with Florida only needing two victories for their first-ever baseball national championship.
