Santa Fe College Baseball Pitcher Honored Second Team All- American
Santa Fe College pitcher Malcolm Clapsaddle earned Second Team All America honors from the National Junior College Association Wednesday.
The sophomore finished the season with an 11-2 record, struck out 103, and walked only 25 batters in 89.1 innings pitched leaving the Saints with a couple of new records to beat.
Coach John Wiggs says, “He had a super year for us and was so consistent throughout the entire season. No doubt the greatest single season of pitching in Santa Fe baseball history."
Clapsaddle has already signed with High Point University (High Point, NC) for the 2011-12 season and was drafted yesterday in the MLB First Year Player Draft by the New York Mets in the 47th round.
He will have until mid-August to decide whether to play in the "Big Leagues" or play another two years of college ball.
