Gators Kick Off SEC Media Days; First Three Game-Times Announced
Day one of the SEC Media days started the Florida football team off right.
The Gators kick off the season beating the heat, with their first two games slated with a 7pm start time. Florida's first home game is against FAU, and will play UAB the following weekend. The third game of the season will start SEC play against the University of Tennessee, beginning at 3:30pm.
Head Coach Will Muschamp said he expects running back Jeff Demps to participate in the fall. Currently, the speedster is in Italy on the US Track and Field team. When asked about rumors of Demps possibly giving up football to concentrate more on track and field, Muschamp quickly ended the conversation.
"I don't deal in rumors and I don't deal in message boards, I don't know any good coach who does... I deal with people eyeball to eyeball, and I ain't ever been to Italy."
Muschamp said that he is giving Offensive Coordinator Charlie Weis full reign on the offensive side of the ball, but the head coach will use his background as a former defensive coordinator to help coach the defense alongside Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn.
